Getting started
What is Greetigo?
Greetigo is a birthday and anniversary reminder app for the dates you never want to miss: a parent's birthday, your anniversary, a friend's big day, and work dates too. It emails you before each one with a message already written, which you review, then send or copy. It works in any web browser, as a free app for iPhone and iPad in the US, and as a Mac app; there is no Android app. The Free plan covers up to 10 saved dates; Plus (US$4.99/mo) and Premium (US$9.99/mo) add AI-written drafts.
I forgot someone's birthday. What should I say?
Keep it short and honest: you forgot, you're sorry, and you're glad they were born. Skip the long excuse, and suggest a time to celebrate if you can. Then save their birthday, so next year you hear about it the day before. What to say when you forgot a birthday
Is Greetigo free to use?
Yes. The Free plan lets you track up to 10 saved dates with email reminders, free message templates, manual entry, and import from a contacts, calendar or CSV file or a pasted list, at no cost. Plus and Premium add AI-written drafts. SMS reminders aren't offered.
How do I create an account?
On the homepage, type the name and date of someone you never want to forget and click "See my reminder email", or click "Sign up free". Then sign up with "Continue with Google", with your email address and a password, or with "Email me a link" (no password needed). A date you typed first saves itself as soon as you are signed in. No credit card required.
I forgot my password. How do I reset it?
On the log-in page, click "Forgot your password?" and enter your email address. Greetigo emails you a link (subject "Reset your Greetigo password"). The link opens greetigo.com/reset-password, where you choose a new password, and it expires in 1 hour. Not in your inbox? Check spam, then ask for a new link. If you signed up with Google, use "Continue with Google" instead. If you signed up with "Email me a link", you have no password: on the log-in page, type your email address and click "Email me a link".
What happens if I don't verify my email?
Your account works and everything you save stays, but Greetigo doesn't send you reminder emails until you verify, and you can't email a message to someone from Greetigo. Look for "Verify your Greetigo email" from Greetigo. Not there? Check spam, then resend it from the banner in the app. Reminders turn on as soon as you verify. Logging in with Google counts as verified.
Is Greetigo cloud-based or a desktop application?
Both. Greetigo is a web app you can use in any browser at greetigo.com. There is also a free Greetigo app for iPhone and iPad on the App Store in the US (iOS 17 or later), and a Greetigo app for Mac (Apple silicon and Intel, macOS 12 or later) on the download page. Sign in with the same Google account or email address and your saved dates are the same everywhere. There is no Android app; on an Android phone, use greetigo.com in the browser.
Is there a Greetigo app for iPhone?
Yes, on the App Store in the US. Elsewhere, Greetigo works in any web browser. Greetigo for iPhone and iPad is free (iOS 17 or later), with nothing to buy in it. Sign in with Apple, Google or your email address. A Google or email account is the same one you use on greetigo.com, with the same saved dates; the website doesn't offer Sign in with Apple. Reminder emails come as they do from the website, and the app can also show a notification at 9 AM on your reminder days and on the day itself, if you turn them on. It can bring in birthdays from your Contacts, saving only the people you pick. On an Android phone there is no app: greetigo.com works in Chrome or any other browser. Greetigo on the App Store
Is there a Greetigo app for Mac?
Yes. Download it from greetigo.com/download: one app for Apple silicon and Intel Macs, macOS 12 or later, signed and notarized by Apple. It uses the same account as the website. When a new version is out, the app tells you and offers to open the download page; it never installs anything on its own. There is no Mac App Store version yet. Download for Mac
Do I need internet access to use Greetigo?
Yes, to add dates and get reminders: your dates are stored in your account and reminders are sent by email. The Mac app can show your saved dates while you are offline.
Dates and people
How do I add people and dates?
A new account opens on "Who do you never want to forget?": pick Mom, Dad, Partner, Best friend or Someone else, add their date and save. After that, click "Add a date" on the dashboard, or "Add a person" on the People page. You can also import people from a CSV file or paste a list on the People page, or use "Import from calendar or contacts" on the Dates page for a calendar (.ics) or contacts (.vcf) file.
Can I import birthdays from my phone or computer contacts?
Yes, from a file. Save your contacts as a vCard (.vcf) file, then on the Dates page use "Import from calendar or contacts" and pick it. Greetigo lists every birthday and anniversary in the file and you choose which to add, up to your plan's limit. The file is read on your device; only the names and dates you pick are saved. A birthday saved without a year comes in without one. It's a one-time copy, not a sync, so add new birthdays as you learn them. How to save the file: iPhone: In Contacts, tap Lists, touch and hold a list, tap Export, choose the fields (include birthdays), tap Done, then save the file, for example to Files. Mac: In Contacts, select the contacts (Command-A selects all), choose File > Export > Export vCard, then click Save. iCloud.com: On a computer or tablet, open Contacts, select the Actions button, choose Select All Contacts, then select the Share button and choose Export vCard. Google Contacts: On a computer, check the box next to any contact, click Selection Actions, then All. Click More actions, then Export, choose vCard, and click Export. Android: In the Contacts app, tap Fix & manage, then Export to file, choose the account, and tap Export to .VCF file.
Can I import people from Google?
Their birthdays and anniversaries, yes, from a file. On a computer, check the box next to any contact, click Selection Actions, then All. Click More actions, then Export, choose vCard, and click Export. Then, on the Dates page, use "Import from calendar or contacts" and pick the file. Greetigo doesn't connect to your Google account, so this is a one-time copy.
Can I import dates from a calendar file?
Yes. On the Dates page, use "Import from calendar or contacts" to upload the .ics file. Google Calendar, Apple Calendar and Outlook can all save one. You choose which entries to add, up to your plan's limit. An export may leave out a birthdays calendar; if yours does, import a contacts file or paste a list of people instead.
Can friends add their own birthdays?
Yes, with a birthday link. Press "Ask for birthdays with a link" on your dashboard, then "Make a link", and send the link yourself, by text, email or in a group chat. Whoever opens it adds their name and birthday without an account; the year and their email address are optional. They see only the name you chose for the link, and only you see what they add. Each birthday waits on your dashboard until you press Keep or Remove. Each one you keep becomes a saved date, with a reminder the day before, and counts toward your plan's limit. Greetigo doesn't email the people who add their birthday. You can have up to 10 links and pause or delete any of them. How to ask someone for their birthday
What kinds of dates can I save?
On the Dates page, "Add a date" offers birthday, work anniversary, anniversary, graduation, wedding, new baby, get well, New Year, Christmas, thank you, congratulations, sympathy, Valentine's Day, meeting and holiday. For anything else, such as a retirement or a memorial, choose "Custom..." and type its name. Birthdays, anniversaries and holidays repeat every year; a one-off occasion, such as a graduation, a wedding day or a sympathy note, is saved once. You can change either under Repeats. On Plus and Premium, the AI writer tailors its drafts to the occasion. How to never forget an anniversary
Can Greetigo remind me before holidays?
Yes, before New Year's Day, Lunar New Year, Valentine's Day, International Women's Day, Eid al-Fitr, St. Patrick's Day, Nowruz, Holi, Easter, Passover, Mother's Day, Eid al-Adha, Father's Day, Rosh Hashanah, Halloween, Diwali, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving, Hanukkah and Christmas. Greetigo emails you 3 days before and the day before by default, with a message ready to send, and works out the right day every year. Nowruz, Holi, Mother's Day, Father's Day, Diwali and Thanksgiving follow their US dates. Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha are expected dates: the moon sighting can move each one a day. Each holiday counts as one of your saved dates. Get a reminder before Thanksgiving
Can I keep notes and gift ideas for each person?
Yes. Notes you save for a person or a date show in the reminder email, labeled as your notes, never inside the message. On the People page, click a name to keep a list of gift ideas for that person and tick each one off once you have bought it.
What happens if I reach my saved-dates limit?
Free includes up to 10 saved dates; Plus and Premium have no 10-date limit. When you reach the Free limit, you can't add more until you remove someone or upgrade. Everything you already saved stays. You can manage your subscription from the Account page.
AI drafts
How does the AI writer work?
On Plus and Premium, the AI writer uses the occasion, the person, and the style you pick to draft a personalized message. There are 9 styles (friendly, formal, funny, inspiring, poetic, heartfelt, professional, minimalist, and religious/spiritual), or you can describe your own, in 16 languages. On your dashboard, click "Review & send" next to a date, then "Change style" on its reminder page. Pick a style and a language, then click "Write an AI draft". The first time, Greetigo asks "Allow AI drafts?" before anything is sent. Review the draft, then send it or copy it. (A date without a ready message, such as a meeting, shows "Write a message" instead, which opens the same page.)
Why does Greetigo ask "Allow AI drafts?"
AI drafts are written by DeepSeek, an outside AI service that processes them in China. To write one, Greetigo sends the person's name, the occasion, the style and language you pick, and any notes you add. Nothing is sent until you choose "Allow AI drafts", and once you allow them Greetigo doesn't ask again. To stop, go to Account > Profile > AI drafts and choose Turn off. AI drafts are on Plus and Premium only. Your choice about AI drafts
Can I change an AI draft?
Yes. Every AI draft can be edited. You can also ask for a new one in a different style, or use it as a starting point and add your own words.
What occasions does the AI support?
Pick one of 15 occasions (birthday, work anniversary, anniversary, graduation, wedding, new baby, get well, New Year, Christmas, thank you, congratulations, sympathy, Valentine's Day, meeting and holiday) or type in any other occasion, and the AI writes a draft for it.
Are AI drafts written fresh each time?
Each AI draft is generated fresh from the details you give it, so drafts for the same occasion come out differently. Read it and add a personal detail before you send it.
Reminders & notifications
How do reminders work?
For each date, choose when Greetigo emails you: on the day, or 1 day, 3 days, 7 days or 14 days before (any combination). If you don't change it, it's the day before. Reminder emails go out in the morning in your time zone: Greetigo saves it from your device, and you can change it in Account > Notifications. The subject says when, such as "Mom's birthday is tomorrow" or "Mom's birthday is in 7 days", and the email shows the message in full with one button: "Review and send" if you saved their email address, so you can check it and send it from Greetigo, otherwise "Copy the message". You can always copy it into a text instead. The reminder goes to your account email, and to one more person if you add one and they confirm (see below). Greetigo never contacts the person you're remembering unless you click Send. Notes you saved under "Things to remember" show in the email and next to the message box, as your notes, never inside the message. Would you rather write it yourself? In Account > Profile, choose "Just remind me, I'll write my own": the email then has the date, your notes and a "Write your message" button, and no message from us. If email to your address bounces, the app shows a note asking you to check your address in Account.
Can my partner or assistant also get the reminders?
Yes, one more person, on every plan at no cost. In Account > Notifications, under "Also send reminders to", enter their email address. Greetigo emails them once to ask, with your name and email address, and sends them nothing else until they confirm. After that they get a copy of each reminder email you get: whose date it is, when, and the message, with a button to copy or send it without an account. They never get your notes, and they can't open your account or change your dates. They can stop with the link at the bottom of any reminder, and you can remove them any time in the same place.
What notification channels are available?
Email reminders are included on every plan, and you can also have them posted to a Slack channel (Account > Notifications > Connect Slack). If you use the Greetigo app for Mac, you can also turn on Mac notifications: at 9 AM on your reminder days and on the day itself. macOS schedules them, so they arrive even when the app is closed. In the free Greetigo app for iPhone and iPad (US only), you can turn on the same notifications on your iPhone or iPad. Greetigo doesn't offer browser push or SMS reminders.
Can I get reminders in Slack?
Yes, on every plan. In Account > Notifications, choose Connect Slack, then pick a channel in Slack. Before each date, Greetigo posts who, which occasion and when to that channel, with a link to the reminder. It never posts your message and never sends anything to the person. You still get the reminder email.
Will I get a monthly summary of upcoming dates?
Not at the moment. Greetigo is not sending summary emails right now. Your upcoming dates are on your dashboard, and each reminder still arrives by email.
How do I unsubscribe or turn reminders off?
Reminder emails and update emails from Greetigo work with your email app's Unsubscribe button, where it shows one, and have a Notification settings link at the bottom. Unsubscribing from a reminder email turns reminder emails off. Unsubscribing from an update email stops update emails, and your reminders keep coming. To turn reminder emails off or back on, go to Account > Notifications and use "Email reminders".
Can the people I send messages to stop getting them?
Yes. Every message emailed through Greetigo ends with an Unsubscribe link for the person who gets it. If they use it, Greetigo stops delivering messages to that address from anyone, and tells you when a message wasn't sent. You can still copy your message and send it from your own email. In a message sent through Greetigo, links to other websites show as plain text, not as clickable links, and a message with a link that also mentions passwords, account checks, bank details or crypto wallets is not sent.
Pricing & billing
What are the pricing plans?
Free: up to 10 saved dates, email reminders, free message templates, manual entry, calendar and contacts file import, and 2 messages a month emailed through Greetigo. Plus (US$4.99/mo or US$49.90/yr): adds AI-written drafts, no 10-date limit and 15 messages a month emailed through Greetigo. Premium (US$9.99/mo or US$99.90/yr): AI-written drafts, no 10-date limit, and 100 messages a month emailed through Greetigo. New subscribers get a 7-day free trial on Plus and Premium. Annual billing saves 17%. SMS reminders are not offered.
Is there a free trial for Plus and Premium?
Yes. New Plus and Premium subscribers get a 7-day free trial. You add a card to start. Cancel before the 7 days end and you pay nothing; otherwise the plan continues at the listed price.
Can I get Plus by inviting friends?
Yes. Copy or share your invite link from the Invite page. When 3 people create new Greetigo accounts from that link, your account gets Plus at no charge. Each person counts only if they sign up in the browser where they opened your link, verify their email and are back in Greetigo in that browser within 24 hours of signing up, and your own email must be verified. We check once a day. If you are on a paid plan, on a free trial, or have a failed payment still being retried when the third person qualifies, you get no reward, then or later. All referral conditions
How do I upgrade or downgrade my plan?
Go to Account → Subscription in the app. Switching between Plus and Premium takes effect right away, and Stripe adjusts the charge for the rest of your billing period. If you cancel to go back to Free, you keep your paid plan until the end of the period you paid for.
What payment methods do you accept?
We use Stripe for secure payment processing. All major credit and debit cards are accepted (Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Discover). Your payment information is never stored on our servers.
Can I cancel my subscription anytime?
Yes. Cancel from your Account page at any time. You'll keep access to paid features until the end of your billing period. Your data is always preserved, and you can resubscribe later.
Privacy & security
Is my data secure?
Your account and saved dates are stored on Google Cloud (Firebase), encrypted in transit and at rest. We share data only with the service providers that run Greetigo, such as SendGrid for email and Stripe for payments (the full list is at greetigo.com/subprocessors), and never with advertisers. See our service providers
Do you sell my personal information?
No. We do not sell your personal information, we do not show ads, and we do not share your data with other companies for advertising or tracking. The Privacy Policy at greetigo.com/privacy has the details. Read the Privacy Policy
Can I export my data?
Yes. On the website, use "Export CSV" on the People page for your saved people, and "Export your dates to a calendar" on the Dates page.
How do I delete my account?
Go to Account > Profile and use Delete account at the bottom (on the website or in the Mac app). If you pay for Plus or Premium, cancel the subscription first; the delete screen tells you and takes you there. Deleting is immediate and can't be undone: we delete your login, the people and dates you saved, your reminders, your messages and your settings from our live systems. A one-time backup of our database made on October 2, 2026 keeps a copy of accounts that existed that day until we delete it, no later than November 1, 2026. If you logged in more than a few minutes ago, you confirm your password (or Google) first. Billing records (checkouts, invoices and payment events) and the Stripe customer record with your email address stay, for tax and accounting.
How do I contact support?
Email team@greetigo.com or use the form at greetigo.com/contact. Contact support
Templates & content
What are message templates?
Greetigo offers 90 free message templates for every occasion: birthdays, anniversaries, sympathy, thank you notes, graduations, and more. Browse them without an account at greetigo.com/templates.
Can I use templates without signing up?
Yes. All 90 templates are free to browse and copy. No account needed. When you're ready for reminders, sign up for free. Plus and Premium add AI-written drafts.
How is Greetigo different from Google Calendar?
Google Calendar shows birthdays from your Google Contacts, and for birthdays you add in its app it reminds you on your phone a week before and on the day. Greetigo emails you on the days you choose (the day before by default), keeps your people and dates in one list, and has free message templates. Plus and Premium add AI-written drafts.
